Heather Lai

Heather came to me on a recommendation from a former client. I love it when clients, or ex-clients, recommend someone. If we've worked together well they usually know my taste and my interests and recognise whether someone's specific skill set will resonate with me. Heather's skill set had me jumping up and down in delight!

Originally from Hong Kong, Heather is skilled in clown, Chinese dance and Japanese Fan dance, Contact Improvisation, flute, and piano. She speaks Mandarin and Cantonese fluently.

Heather is drawn to making her own work and collaborating with companies whose interests complement her own. She writes, devises, and creates her own theatre. She has taken her own work to the Edinburgh Festival and had a transfer to Vault Festival.

In addition to being an actor and musician she is also a skilled assistant director and a producer - she even assistant produced the Olivier Award Nominee - Alice’s Adventure Underground in Shanghai.

A busy and hard-working multi-platform creative with her fingers in a number of different pies, Heather has a killer sense of humour that had me laughing until I cried. I'm excited to see what opportunities develop for her and look forward to some interesting challenges ahead.
